Press Release: SSI reports its separated financial statement for 1Q2016

Saigon Securities Inc. (HOSE: SSI) reported its separated revenue and earnings for the first quarter of 2016. 1Q2016 revenue reached 373.24 billion VND, increasing slightly compared to a year ago. Profit before tax was 134.35 billion VND. Brokerage Service, Advances to Investors & Margin Service and Principal Investment are three main business lines which account for a large proportion of the total revenue.

GDP of 1Q2016 was only 5.46%, which was lower than that of 1Q2015 – 6.12%. FDI still remained as a bright point with the total disbursement of 3.5 billion USD, representing 15% YoY increase. Market liquidity was not really strong due to the lack of supporting information and the long Lunar New Year holiday.

SSI Brokerage Service still maintained its 1^st position brokerage market share in both HOSE and HNX in 1Q2016, which was 13.96% and 11.04% respectively. Revenue from Brokerage Service of this quarter was 80.7 billion VND, which is 30% higher than that of 1Q2015. Margin lending exposure was 3,200 billion VND at the end of 2015, going up to 3,500 billion VND in 1Q2016. As a result, revenue from Advances to Investors & Margin Service reached 98.3 billion VND, which was over 40% higher than 1Q2015.

Principal Investment remained its high proportion to the revenue of SSI, accounting for approximately 24% of the total 1Q2016 revenue. Investment Banking also had a good quarter by successfully mobilizing for enterprises via bond and share issuance advisory service.

At 31/03/2016, the Company reported its owners’ equity at 6,618.7 billion VND and total asset at 12,254.6 billion VND - a 3% increase than the one in the beginning of this year.

The SSI Annual General Shareholders’s Meeting 2016 will be held on Monday, 25/04/2016 at the Meeting Hall of Unification Palace, 135 Nam Ky Khoi Nghia St., District 1, Ho Chi Minh City.
