SSI currently provides 3 transaction authentication methods for customers, meeting the requirements for 2-factor authentication, including: Smart OTP, SMS OTP and Certificate Authority.

1.Smart OTP: This authentication method generates an OTP code using the SSI Smart OTP application, which is integrated into the SSI iBoard App.

2.SMS OTP: With SMS OTP, the SSI system generates an OTP code and sends it via text message to the phone number registered with SSI.

3.Certificate Authority (CA): A Certificate Authority issues electronic certificates that provide identification information for the public key of an agency, organization, or individual. It confirms the authenticity of digital signatures using the corresponding secret key.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR REGISTERING SMART OTP 

The Smart OTP authentication method can be registered easily and conveniently on the SSI iBoard Pro application. Please download the SSI iBoard Pro app and follow the registration instructions here. 

 

USE ADVANCED SMART OTP TO TRANSACT AND PLACE ORDERS ON IBOARD WEB

 

The advanced Smart OTP authentication method helps customers confirm transactions on iBoard Web quickly and conveniently.   


Step 1: The customer initiates a transaction on iBoard Web. The system will send a notification to the SSI iBoard Pro app for the customer to authenticate the transaction.   

Step 2: The customer reviews the transaction and select Approve/Reject. The transaction authentication result will be automatically synchronized with iBoard Web.   

Note: 

  • Customers need to enable notifications on the SSI iBoard Pro app to receive push notifications. Please enable notifications as show in the image below:

  • Customers can access the Smart OTP code retrieval feature on the SSI iBoard Pro app to Approve/Reject transactions if customers do not receive a notification.   
  • If the verification expires after 180 seconds, the customer can re-verify by clicking the “Resend verification” button.

  • The customer can also manually enter the verification code at any time by clicking on the word “here” in the line “Or enter the Smart OTP code here.”

INSTRUCTIONS FOR REGISTERING SMS OTP ON IBOARD WEB

Step 1: Log in to your securities trading account on iBoard Web. Select “Account" > "Authentication method"

 

Step 2:  On the 2FA Management screen > Select a 2FA authentication method as SMS OTP 

 

 

iBoard Web displays instructions to download the iBoard Pro app by scanning a QR code or downloading it from the App Store/Google Play.

USING SMS OTP FOR TRANSACTIONS AND ORDERS ON IBOARD WEB

Step 1: In iBoard Web, go to the “Place Order/Transaction” screen > The system will display an input field labeled “SMS OTP.”

Step 2: Check your phone for the SMS containing the OTP (One-Time Password), and enter it into the “SMS OTP” field on iBoard Web to finalize your transaction.

 

Note: 

  • Before installation, you need to register to buy a Certificate Authority and provide the necessary information with the organization providing the Certificate Authority. The cost of digital certificate equipment and instructions for use will depend on each digital certificate issuer... 

  • To install the Certificate Authority as an authentication method on the online transaction system at SSI, you need to install the VNPT Plugin application and a Certificate Authority management software of the publisher (Token manager) that you are using on your desktop computer or laptop, then register the Certificate Authority on SSI iBoard Web or SSI Web Trading 

Registration step 

  • Step 1: Plug the Certificate Authority device (as USB) into the computer.  Log in to your securities account on iBoard Web → In the “Account” section, select “Authentication method”

  • Step 2: On the “2FA Management” screen → Select the 2FA method as Certificate authority (ensure the Digital Certificate device is already plugged into the computer being used for registration).

  • Step 3: Agree to the Terms of Use and Privacy Policy → Select button "Find Certificate" → Enter the verification code of the current authentication method → Enter the PIN of the Digital Certificate.
 

 

The system will compare the ID/Citizen ID card information in the Digital Certificate with the Securities Trading account information at SSI
